SERMON SERIES: EXPLORE GOD
The human soul is designed to be naturally curious, longing to understand our place in the story of the universe. In this series, we'll seek to give voice to some of humanity's deepest, most abiding questions and to address them thoughtfully as we seek to explore God together.
PART 1: DOES LIFE HAVE A PURPOSE?
Is there a reason for existence? Does life mean anything? What should I do with the time I'm alive? In this message, we explore both the hopeless and hopeful responses to these fundamental questions.
9/8/13 Speaker: Justin Gerhardt
PART 2: DOES GOD EXIST?
Why is there something rather than nothing? What accounts for the marvelous order and regularity of our universe? Where does morality come from? Why do we thirst for something more than what we can see or touch or taste? In this message, we'll explore questions that bring us face to face with the reasonableness of belief.
9/15/13 Speaker: Justin Gerhardt
PART 3: WHY DOES GOD ALLOW PAIN AND SUFFERING?
PART 4: IS CHRISTIANITY TOO NARROW?
Isn’t Christianity too exclusive? After all, it claims to be the only true religion; isn’t that the height of arrogance? In this message, we look one famous statement by Jesus for insight into the question, "Is Christianity too narrow?"
9/29/13 Speaker: Justin Gerhardt
PART 5: IS THE BIBLE RELIABLE?
Weren't the "gospels" just made up by emperor Constantine's folks hundreds of years after Jesus lived, in order to keep Rome's subjects at bay? Doesn't the portrayal of Jesus in the Bible simply reflect the legends that grew up around him during the 200 years or so after his death?
We address these questions and more as we explore the valid question, "Is the Bible reliable?"
10/6/13 Speaker: Justin Gerhardt
PART 6: CAN I KNOW GOD PERSONALLY?
It is, in fact, possible for a human being to have an actual relationship with the God of the universe. In this message, we discuss the WHY and the HOW of that incredible reality.
