Thanks so much for being willing to volunteer your time and energy to support Champs Camp! We couldn’t do it without you.

There are many ways you can help out! Please read the descriptions below and prayerfully consider where you would like to serve before you register. As roles are filled, we will do all we can to place you in the location you feel equipped to serve, however, we cannot guarantee the role due to the various needs and volunteers we have.

All Champs Camp volunteers must attend a mandatory training session and comply with RRCOC’s childcare safety policies and procedures. This training will take place on Sunday, June 2 at 5:00PM.

Out of an abundance of caution for both our campers and staff, all adult volunteers will need to complete a Criminal Background check. If you are not a member of the Round Rock Church of Christ, you will need a personal reference by one of our members. Thanks so much for your understanding!

Role Descriptions

Team Counselor: A team counselor is responsible for a group of approximately ten to fifteen children throughout the entire Champs Camp week. You will move together with your team through the Champs Camp areas and hear Bible stories, sing worship songs, play games, do crafts, and more. This role is one of the most rewarding as you get to grow deep in relationship with those who attend. This connection will enable more space to speak truth into the hearts of the children God brings to Champs Camp. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Coach: Coaches work to provide active and engaging games for each of the teams. This role is responsible for securing needed supplies for each day and cooperating with the coach leader to ensure the safety of the children. Games are active so you MUST make sure to stay hydrated. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Crafts: As a craft volunteer, you will help each team make a simple craft related to the daily Bible story. All scripts, supplies, and instructions will be provided. The number of volunteers for this team is limited so not everyone who requests to be on the craft team may be chosen to serve in this location. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Snack Crew: The Snack Crew prepares and serves snacks for children and adults during Champs Camp rotations each day. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Worship Team: The worship team is comprised of a volunteer team who leads the children in worship during the two large group worship gatherings each day. We need people who are energetic and don’t mind being in front of people, and who can help lead the songs and teach motions to the children. The time commitment for this team includes every day of Champs Camp as well as 1-2 pre-meetings before the week of Champs Camp. The number of volunteers for this team is limited so not everyone who requests to be on the worship team may be chosen to serve. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Little Champs: Do you love little children and want to serve our Champs Camp volunteers? We provide Little Champs for the young children (2-Kinder) of our volunteers during Champs Camp. Each day you will arrive early (8:30am) and leave later (12:30pm) than everyone else, but you will get to play with kids and share God’s love with them while allowing their parents to serve in their volunteer roles. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Floater: This role encompass all of the tasks, big and small, that support Champs Camp week. This is ideal for those who want to be involved, but who would be open to be in any space that is needed. This job could include the following: cleaning, sorting, counting, organizing, creative thinking, organizing and preparing anything for the day or week of Champs Camp. This role is very limited, so not everyone who requests to do this role will serve in this capacity. Attending Champs Camp training is required.

Unfortunately, our safety policy does not allow middle school students to be camp counselors, therefore, we have very few places where they can volunteer. Those few places that are available, we have reserved for students whose parents are volunteering as well.
